Nabar has made it far to the royal hideout where Princess Esther and others were hiding, but he was yet to see the girl.
Nacca once suspected the evil ones would detect the presence of the young girl in the city. It all turned out to be as expected. Tobi reached out to Nabar the moment the girl was sensed in the town and told him to go after the girl as fast as possible without anyone noticing.
The presence of Nabar at the hideout was strange to most people, but no one could question him, especially when they were unaware of the evil things he has been doing. His movement was weird, his stature looks different, and a mark was visible on his shoulder. He walked without interruption and asked one of the women, “Where is the princess?” the question triggered so many things. One of the women was shocked but could not talk because the eyes of Nabar became a source of fear. The voice she heard was a familiar voice of terror. It sounded like one that inflicted a modification in thought.
Nabar continued with his mission without even realizing the victims of the voice has been liberated. He continued his search without fear. This might be the end anyone never anticipated, especially now that most attention is on ongoing war and safety.
“Your majesty, it is not safe to be out here.” One of the soldiers alerted others around him with his statement after seeing the king on his armor of war. The king demanded the gate be opened for him to join the battle. Stephen, who was still there at the gate with some other soldiers, tried to convince the king from moving out since they have things under control, but the king was too determined to fight, and no one in the kingdom could override his commands and decisions.
The other company arrived at the back of the enemies, trapping them in the middle. They began receiving hits from both ends. For the second time since the war started, the victory the soldiers of Hashmaim envisaged became evident. They couldn’t wait to celebrate it, so they intensified their effort rather than easing their attacking mode.
The king made it there with the soldiers that followed him. He has always been proud of David, his son, but he has never been this proud of him before. He was so blown away by the havoc David and his men have wrecked on the enemies that he said, “I can peacefully embrace death. The kingdom already has a better king.” Those around him heard his voice, and he didn’t even realize the gravity of what he was saying.
Something they least expected happened again. Nabar knew about the war tactics when planned, so he made the enemies prepare for a situation such as this one. Another set of soldiers came from behind. When prince Balin thought they had ambushed the enemy, they got trapped in the middle. They had the option of either surrendering or fighting till death.
On the other end, where prince David stood with his soldiers, a greater enemy came after them. The dark riders. Aside from the one commanding the evil armies, others came to join the war. Noticing the tides of war have changed once again; the wizard cast a spell that placed a barrier between them and the enemy while they reform the line to launch another attack.
The soldiers with prince Balin stood while surrounded. They waited for the order to attack even if it is hopeless. The soldiers with prince David formed the line, but this time the king was part of those on the frontline. Would this be the end, or is there another surprise prince David has for the enemies?
For someone whose true identity has been hidden for long, people found it difficult to believe what they saw. “Is this the Nabar we know?” this question became dominant in the heart of many people who saw him walk majestically towards the direction of princess Esther, the little girl, and Aryan.
“Someone is coming, and I don’t think he is friendly.” Said Aryan as he could see Nabar approaching them. Nabar arrived at their location a few moments after Aryan mentioned something about someone approaching. Princes Esther couldn’t look into his eyes twice, so she asked: What has happened to you?
Without giving regards to what princess Esther has to say, Nabar began to talk terrifyingly. “So, you are the little brat, the child of prophecy that has put us all through this unnecessary stress. So little a thing, yet so destructive that we all fear your existence.” Nabar laughed while he began to walk closer to her.
Princess Esther tried to interfere, but Nabar pushed her away like garbage and began to narrate how easily she could be deceived and how the good heart of the people of Hashmaim has prevented them from knowing the truth about him.
“I was never a trader. I was sent by my lord to bring an end to what threatens our existence. You all were too blind to notice my actions, and you princess Esther was too attracted to me that you didn’t notice I was using you.” his words were like a sharp knife. It inflicted pain on all those who heard it. He told them about Asher, who was becoming a problem. “The persistent bastard,” he said as he wished him well in the grave. At this point, women that once rebelled against the king recognized Nabar’s voice as the one controlling them before they gained freedom.
The barrier was beginning to fade. The soldiers would have to fight again, but this time, they understand that regardless of how they fight, it is just a matter of time before they all fall to the edge of their enemy’s sword. For some reason, those surrounding the soldiers with prince Balin did not attack.
The frontline of both the people of Hashmaim and the soldiers of Salizer was ready. However, it doesn’t seem things would happen the way everyone envisaged it. Someone the people of Hashmaim never had the opportunity of seeing in the past came to the battlefield. “Let them all pass through to meet the rest of the infidels over there.” The rumbling voice that brings the evil armies to their kneel spoke, and they recognized it. It was Tobi. One of the dreaded loyalists of Kazar.
They paved the way for the soldiers with prince Balin to join the company of king Dominic and prince David. It was an escape they least expected, but Balin and Nacca suspected there is more to this act. They all walked through while the enemies reformed a line behind them.
The barrier disappeared completely as Prince Balin and others joined the company of David.
“King Dominic! Let not your heart be consumed with surprises for it is over already.” His words were mysterious, but Nacca could pick some sense in it. “The prophecy was fulfilled despite efforts to stop it. The little nitwit destined to save the world was born. I am impressed.” At this moment, Nacca knew the child had been found, and there is nothing he could do from the battlefield. Tobi told the king there wouldn’t be a need to shed blood anymore since they already had what they came for. Sorrow gripped the heart of the soldiers of Hashmaim after Tobi narrated everything about the prophecy to those who knew it and those who don’t.
The king became irritated and frustrated that he charged after Tobi all by himself.
Prince David tried following him, but Nacca held him back. From a distance, they watched the king being slain effortlessly by Tobi. “If you try to attack, you will die. We will all meet our doom.” Said Nacca. Uncontrollable tears filled the eyes of David. Fighting back would be a foolish move.
The little girl who was yet to realize most of her abilities tried fighting Nabar, but her efforts were futile. Nabar grabbed her and said, “Little brat. You are no match for me.” he pulled out a sword and pierced straight through her heart. However, the result was different. Zarius also stabbed Nabar from behind with his dagger and restrained him with the same chain he tried using to capture Boraky in the past.
Zarius returned to trace the movement underground after Prince Balin said it would be dangerous to take chances. He left the soldiers under the command of prince Balin, but he didn’t make it to the location of Nabar early enough to save the little girl.
Tobi suddenly busted into laughter and said: It is done. The battle was over without another fight. The enemies returned to their territory. The body of the king was taken back into the city in tears. Nacca prevented all efforts to attack the enemies because he is aware of the disastrous end. He waited for Zarius to return with the girl’s body because he understood it is the only reason Tobi would withdraw his armies.
People began coming out of their hideouts with happiness since the war didn’t consume them, but they met with a tragedy they never expected—the king’s death and many soldiers’ death.
Zarius brought Nabar out to prince David, who suspects him of being an enemy, but it was too late because he already achieved his purpose. All hope disappeared like a coin that fell into the deep blue sea.
